Come home to our home! Join other families who return year after year to the unspoiled Great Sacandaga Lake to experience the fresh air,
wide open skies with spectacular sunsets, and unique encounters in the midst of nature at its best. Our country home is on the northeast
shore of Great Sacandaga Lake and at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. We have a private beach area with dock, boat, and canoe
and plenty of shoreline to have lakeside games and picnics. Just relax on the waterfront with your book while the sun gently caresses your
body or head out on the lake with your fishing rod or binoculars to catch the many species offish or birds.
The house can easily sleep eight in the three bedrooms (two double beds and two twin beds) and one pull out sleeper in the sunroom. We
have a large updated eat-in country kitchen fully equipped with utensils and dishware, refrigerator, stove, microwave, and an additional sink
for food or beverage preparation. For rainy days and relaxation, there is a library of books, board games, puzzles, binoculars, and a toasty
woodstove for you to use. Other features include antique furniture, hardwood floors with area rugs, cushioned couches and chairs, picture
windows with wood shudders, gas grill, stereo for cassettes or CDs, DVD and VHS player, large bath with sink, shower, and a vanity. For
the last minute items that you might have forgotten, you may find them here or at the grocery store and gas station conveniently located just
a mile or so down the road.
Vacation activities are right at your fingertips. You don't even have to get into your car again. At our lakeside retreat, whether you are a family,
couple, or have a significant other, there is plenty to do and lots of room for everyone to find their own personal space in the comforts of our
home. Catch the breeze from the front porch, gaze lakeside from the sunroom, charbroil on the back deck, watch the flames dance in the
Franklin stove in the family room, cook gourmet meals in the kitchen, or take a nap on a chaise lounge. Are playing games more your
speed? Then, take out the bocce ball, badminton, or croquet sets and play on the front lawn. Perhaps you would like to engage in some
daily exercise? Head down to the beach for swimming, hike the numerous trails or spend time paddling around the shoreline of the lake.
The surrounding area offers you all the amenities you need to have a choice in your vacation retreat. We are located at the foothills of the six
million acre Adirondack State Park where you can roam the 8, 000 square miles of mountains, hike the 2,000 miles of foot trails, fish in the
30,000 miles of brooks and streams, canoe, kayak, or white water raft on the 1,500 miles of rivers, or just spend time spying on nature to
catch a glimpse of the 220 species of birds, 30 species of reptiles and amphibians, or over 50 species of furry animals. For those of you
who enjoy a climb or a backpack trip into the wilderness, take on Marcy and Algonquin Peaks which are the highest in the Adirondack
Mountain Range.
Looking for a place for a day trip? Take a short 25-mile jaunt to the Victorian city of Saratoga Springs well known as a health resort because
of its natural mineral springs and spas. There is something for everyone in Saratoga Springs as it is home to thoroughbred racing at the
Saratoga Race Course, the Performing Arts Center offering theater, orchestra, jazz, opera, and contemporary artists, the New York City
Ballet, museums, Yaddo Rose Gardens, Westport Country and Saratoga National Golf Clubs, American Revolution Battlefields, Skidmore
College, antique shops, and some of the best bistros and restaurants outside of New York City.
Children and adults alike also want to take a short 30 minute drive to Lake George for the thrill of riding one of the six roller coasters at the
Great Escape or getting wet at Splashwater Kingdom. Lake George also offers steamboat cruises touring Lake George, parasailing
excursions, horse drawn buggies, balloon flights, white-water rafting, horseback riding, and miniature golf.
Just like Dorothy said, "there is no place like home", and you will feel right at home at our enchanted lakeside retreat.

nestled in a private setting where a stream runs through the property. The sound of the babbling water soothes and calms you just enough
to get you ready for a day’s adventure or a day’s relaxation on the sun porch. You might want to give those sore muscles a rejuvenating
Jacuzzi. Maybe you just want to wade in the stream and splash some pure, clean Adirondack Mountain water all other you. If you decide on

Katherine,
I had to tell you how much we enjoyed your cottage. It was lovely
and most comfortable. Marilyn and I relaxed there after very long
days in Glenns Falls at the seminar and loved that we were not in
a hotel. It was a wonderful accommodation and the ride back and
forth was spectacular. The seminar was fabulous! Our only regret
was that the weather was so dreary that we did not get any time
out in your lovely yard although we had morning tea on the front
sun porch every day. (Your Harry Lauder walking sticks are to die
for). It must be a beautiful place in summer.
Thank you - we will fondly think of your place on Horse Hill and
happily recommend it to all.
Jean
